Den 27 november träffades MBA Alumni Club på ett lunchmöte med efterföljande glögg. Björn von Matérn som representerar Alumni-verksamheten presenterade även sitt företag The Absolut Co.

Björn presented the ABSOLUT story to the Swedish MBA Alumnis on the 27th of November. A short recap of the presentation: In less than thirty years, Absolut Vodka has gone from an idea to the world's 4th best-selling spirits brand. What has made Absolut Vodka such an incredible success? The story unfolded and in a brief 90 minutes Björn told the story behind this unique brand.

Marketing is a major component, but no brand achieves this sort of success on image alone - it has to be a top-quality product.

The secret can be summed up in two words: "One Source". Every drop of Absolut Vodka sold every year comes from one place: Åhus in southern Sweden. It is here you find winter wheat and well water that is over 10 000 years old. It is here you find over 500 years of vodka-making tradition and the latest in continuous distilling technology.

Björn told the story of our bottle, what goes into it and how Absolut created its legendary mystique. There were snapshots of the development from 1979 to present and we also took a sneak preview of the advertising campaign that starts on Monday the 30th of November in Swedish television.

Pernod Ricard has through the acquisition of Absolut in 2008, opened up a global distribution network and added a tremendous amount of know-how in how to reach the market in an efficient way.
